Bluesky profile links give visitors a direct route to your website, newsletter or other social accounts. The company announced the feature on October 22, alongside beta iPad support in the app’s 1.136 update.

How Bluesky profile links work

Open your profile, choose Edit Profile, then add a URL in the Links section. You can give each entry a title and drag entries into your preferred order. They appear below your bio. On mobile, visitors can press and hold a link to check its full address before opening it.

Links to payment services such as Patreon and Ko-fi automatically get prominent green buttons. These lead to creators’ existing payment pages, where visitors can subscribe or contribute. Unlike a separate link-in-bio landing page, the feature sends people straight to the destination.

There is an account restriction worth checking. Bluesky’s implementation notes say age-restricted accounts, including those in Safe mode, cannot add or edit profile links. Those accounts can still see other profiles’ links. The Links section is hidden when editing is unavailable, so its absence does not necessarily mean the app needs updating.

iPad support arrives in beta

Bluesky’s official account also confirmed iPad support in version 1.136 on October 22. It invited users to try the app on an iPad and report problems through Settings > Beta features. That menu is the feedback route named in the announcement; it is not described as an activation switch.

Also new in today’s v1.136 update: iPad support! One of our most-requested features is finally here in beta. Try out the Bluesky app on your iPad, and if you see anything off, let us know under Settings > Beta features.

The release notes, published October 21, list changes to tablet layouts, navigation and pop-up sizing. They also include a fix for an iPad blocking dialog that could appear blank. These are concrete interface changes, although beta status still leaves room for bugs.

The team’s iPad support request dates to November 2024. It closed as completed on October 20, 2026, through a tablet-related code change. The following public announcement still calls the feature beta; closing the issue does not establish a finished rollout or a date for leaving beta.
